Apart from the training given to schools that avail of the academic monitoring service, ACT also conducts training programmes for teachers all over India. The objective is to equip teachers with the latest trends in teaching techniques and to encourage teachers to become creative.
Training for college students At ACT we have diversified into training college students as we felt that training students in colleges brings in a greater visible change. The youth are more proactive and are ready for change and hence carry the change forward.
We have conducted workshops for students in various colleges across disciplines at the undergraduate and the post graduate level in Bangalore in association with Deccan Herald, a leading English daily.

OTHER SERVICES OFFERED BY ACT
Placement Cell
At ACT we strongly felt a need for an organized effort at creating opportunities for talented teachers. The need for good teachers, principals and administrators is tremendous but no such platform was available for interaction, hence the placement wing at ACT. The faculty are in constant touch with the teacher training colleges and conduct campus interviews to shortlist candidates. They are later recruited by managements. ACT has a huge database and many institutions have availed of this service in the country and abroad. To the individuals, finding the school which will suit one best from financial, geographical and growth point of view is enormously challenging. To the schools, sourcing the right talents is equally challenging. Thus ACT has been working for the cause of both teachers and the schools – placing the teachers that it has trained and finding good teachers for the schools that it is associated with for academic handholding.
Research Wing
ACT has undertaken several auditing projects under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) under the aegis of The Karnataka State Government. ACT open to the idea of conducting research with organizations that conduct educational research and conduct feasibility studies.
ACT recognizes that the schools that they are serving are set in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural society. Hence, any single form of training cannot be good for all the schools. The ACT faculty studies the local variables in each school system and develops a flexible framework of training strategy. The faculty at ACT are continuously researching and updating their knowledge and skills with the understanding that there is no ready formula to ensure change and innovations.
Academic Monitoring Cell: It is important that academic monitoring should become a self-sustaining program at the schools that ACT is serving. With sustainability as its objective, ACT has an innovatively created a cell within the school called the Academic Monitoring Cell, composed of teachers from the school who have been recognized through assessment as having excellent classroom practice, leadership skills and positive attitudes. ACT assists the school in the selection of teachers for, and the formation of the cell. ACT trains the members of the Academic Monitoring cell. This venture provides both the institutions an opportunity to collaborate together in an optimal way and pave the way for much needed reforms in the in-service sector. The cell is designed to strengthen teaching and learning through better leadership, better rewards, better training and better support. |
